5One of our favorite Thomas track additions!  Jul 25, 2011

We bought this two years ago at Christmas and it was the most exciting gift of the day! Both of my Thomas loving boys could pick a track and race their favorite wooden trains! They were also really excited to have a Sir Topham Hat figurine standing mid-track observing the race. As the trains race down the track they pick up a good deal of speed, so we like to make a nice long track for the trains to traverse. They find it especially fun to have a bridge or other up and over feature at the bottom of the track to watch the trains go up and down and up and down. All of their friends have also enjoyed playing with it. We have not had any trouble with the gate arms raising (as mentioned in another review), but the top track does topple easily and when my boys were younger we had to sit nearby and fix it frequently, but it seems we are always fixing track around here, so we were expecting that. I recommend this as a gift for any Thomas loving kid without hesitation and I am sure we will be using it for many more years as their younger brother starts up an interest in Thomas.

I purchased this set which is priced pretty steep even for Thomas, To my dissapointment when you press the button for the gates to lift releasing the train, the gates either dont lift enough to release the train or one doesnt lift at all. Haveing many Thomas Destinations I figured it was just a fluke and returned it for another, the new one was even worse! So now i have $100.00 pile of heap, only good from the story is two nice straight pieces with built in buffers.
