Strathwood Lido Rectangular Dining Table

This product is currently out of stock
Description:

A great choice for use in smaller spaces, this handsomely designed dining table from the Strathwood Lido dining outdoor furniture collection includes two ingeniously designed butterfly leaves to add space for up to six guests. It's made of kapur wood, a dense and highly durable hardwood from Southeast Asia (primarily Indonesia and Malaysia). The kapur has a fine-sanded, oil-stained finish in a warm, mahogany brown tone. Rivaling for strength and resistance to weather and insects, kapur is ideal for outdoor use.

The tabletop features two halves that slide open to reveal two butterfly leaves stored underneath, which fold out to provide more serving and dining space. At its smallest size, the tabletop measures 62 inches by 39-1/4 inches and is very roomy for four diners. It extends to a maximum length of 86-1/5 inches when both butterfly leaves are unfolded. Each tabletop half includes two slatted columns, and the table legs have a square, sturdy construction. The center of the table remains stable, and it includes a 1-5/8-inch opening for an optional umbrella. Assembly is easy, with all parts and hardware included.

Before shipment, your new furniture will receive a generous application of teak oil, which provides protection from ultraviolet light.

Left untreated, kapur will weather to a soft, warm shade of gray similar to that of weathered teak. If you prefer to prevent this weathering process, you may apply additional coats of teak oil. The frequency of necessary teak oil applications will depend on the intensity of the sun in your environment, but typically, one or two coats per year is sufficient. Teak oil can usually be found at a marine dealer or hardware store, or through an Internet merchant. If you allow your furniture to weather, you may later decide that you want to restore it to its original condition. This is possible using teak-cleaner products, also available at most marine dealers or through Internet merchants. After following the instructions for cleaning, you will want to apply a coat of teak oil to prevent the weathering process.

1Very disappointed!!  Aug 18, 2007
By T. Bledsoe
The first table that I received had a 6 inch crack and was scratched as well, the box looked like it had seen better days. I returned that table and 2 days later I received a new one. The replacement table also had a crack, only about 2 inches, and one side of the leaf would not open. Had to send the table and 6 chairs back. It's a shame, because it is a really pretty set, but I guess that's why it was so inexpensive.

2cracked table top  Jun 18, 2007
By David G. Fawcett
There was a 4 inch long crack on the table top. And since the thing weighs a ton, and would be a pain to re-package, I will keep it. you get what you pay for. I know why it was $199 now; Its flimsy, but I needed something quick for the season, and i put the cracked side on the far end. I'll be shocked if it lasts more than 2 seasons. My guess is that by using some 3rd-rate shipper, you dont get kid gloves care with the furniture. Oh well, lesson learned.

4great buy  Mar 22, 2008
By A. Hines
I was about to purchase a similar set from pottery barn for twice the price. I just wasn't comfortable spending that amount of money. I started looking for somethig that would give me the same look for a smaller price. That's when i came across this set. I read all the reviews and was still a little nervous becaue they were so mixed. But I decided to order it anyway. I received the table and chairs in about a week all pieces were intact, simple to assemble- my 16yr old daughter put ours together. It looks great on my deck and i can't wait for the weather to break o i can start using it.

4beautiful, but picture deceiving  Feb 08, 2008
By Karri R. Aanderud "satisfied"
I was worried about the packaging after reading other reviews, but the table was not damaged. So far, looks beautiful. Only problem is the picture is deceiving. The picture shows the legs at the very end of the table, leaving room for 3 chairs on each side when fully extended. The legs are actually about 10 inches in from the end. There is only room for 2 chairs on each side between the legs. Not sure how we're going to seat 3 on each side without someone straddling a table leg. Anyone else notice the discrepancy in the picture versus actual??

4Great Outdoor Table  Feb 06, 2008
By bizEmom
This table extends out so big that one night we swaped out our normal dining room table to accomidate a large dinner party at our house. You can fit 10 people at the table (2 people on each end, 3 on the sides). Yes, someone would have to stradle the legs if you put 4 people on the long sides - even 3 people is a tight squeeze because of the placement of the table legs.
This patio table was made to be outside... remember that the slats that make up the top of the table will allow rain to fall through but because it's not a solid surface, don't try to write letters or homework on it.

The table was shipped in an 'almost perfect' condition. The table leaves tuck in under the table when not in use and I found out that when I opened and extended the leaves, the hinges cut into the wood and made the wood chip completely off in some places. It's liveable damage though.

Easy to assemble. Easy to take the legs off again to store. While the majority of the table was preassembed, the pre-assembly people obviously didn't use any glue to strenghten joints. When moving the table up and down stairs some of those joints came undone. I just fixed it up with gorilla glue and now it all feels sturdy again.

Great table. Great price.
