Strathwood Camano All-Weather Wicker Trash Can

This product is currently out of stock
Description:

Handsomely designed and built to last, this Strathwood resin wicker trashcan offers classic style to weather ever-changing trends and reliable craftsmanship to stay pristine in outdoor conditions. It's the perfect accompaniment to the mocha-hued Camano outdoor furniture line, which includes a sectional sofa, chaise lounge, and storage box. The exterior measures 15-1/2 inches square and its rounded top rises to 31-1/2 inches. The interior has a strong steel frame and mocha-hued, ridged cardboard side inserts, and a measurement of 14 inches deep by 14 inches wide by 28-1/2 inches high. Substantially weighted at 22-1/2 pounds, it's great for using as a trash can or for storing wet towels after playing in the pool.

The tightly woven wicker strands are made from durable polyethylene (PE) resin, which is designed to withstand fading, weathering, and aging within a temperature range of -70C (-94F) to 80C (176F) degrees. The washable wicker strands have a powder-coated finish with a modest sheen that easily sheds drizzle and accidental drips, and its looks will remain unchanged for three years under normal usage. Assembly is easy, with all parts, hardware, and necessary tools included.

The term "wicker" doesn't refer to a particular material, but a style of construction that weaves together stiff strands of fibers such as rattan, willow, and bamboo. Woven furniture has been around since ancient Egypt, but wicker is believed to have been given its name in Scandinavia--with wika meaning to bend and vikker meaning willow in Swedish. Wicker was first popularized in America in the 1850s, and was used extensively in the Arts and Crafts movement at the turn of the 20th century.

3pain in the can  May 07, 2007

discolored section on front of can. and the bags are extremely difficult to pull out because of the metal bars on each of the inside sections that hold the metal ring that holds the bag in place.

4Wicker-Resin Trash Can  Feb 26, 2008
By Kimn S. Sullivan "kimberly"
This product was received in excellent condition. It does require assembling which takes about 30 minutes with simple directions. Very functional, looks good as I have similar accessories on my patio that go with this. This was the most reasonable priced wicker resin trash can I could find. Frontgate has one for over $300 which is ridiculous to spend for a trash can and is almost the same look.
Great deal! Especially if you use your amazon credits like I did and it only cost me after the credits less than $2.00!!! Go Amazon credit card!

5Excellent Product  Sep 04, 2007

Though it's not impossible to put this product together, it's a chore. However, once it's all done you end up with something that looks three times the cost of what you spent. I couldn't be happier at the look and quality. I even had it out in the rain and the interior was completely dry. It's a great find and definitely worth getting.

3Doesn't last long  Apr 25, 2009
By Karen Wall
We bought this trash can two years ago. After about a year and a half some of the strands on the top started to discolor. Soon, those were crumbling and the top started to disintegrate. It looks nice and worked well, but for the price I would have liked to get more than 2 years out of it.

About those comments regarding it being hard to get the trash bags out... we had the same trouble when we put lawn and leaf bags in, but it was easily solved by using the tall kitchen trash bags instead.

5I have the whole line  May 04, 2008
By Jeffrey B. Thompson
I read all the other reviews and decided to buy a chair and end table..... Well, four purchases later, I have the whole line. The quality is outstanding for the price. I went on line and had custom cushions made to replace what it came with (I needed outdoor cushions to withstand the elements), and I still spent less money that what I would have with some "designer" stores. Go for it-- you will be happy.
