Description:

The Strathwood folding armchair set includes two well-designed folding chairs. They are an elegant way to be ready for extra guests, and the chairs can easily be put away when not in use. Not only are they handy, but they are comfortable, too, and the set arrives fully assembled. Combine these chairs with the Strathwood 28-inch folding table for a great little setting that can be easily stored away. The folding chairs are made of eucalyptus wood, an all-weather wood that is dense and durable. Eucalyptus requires no finishing and will not rot when left outdoors, where rain and sun will damage other, lesser-quality woods. Left untreated, eucalyptus will weather to a soft, warm shade of gray similar to that of weathered teak. The original color can be maintained by applying a seasonal coat of teak oil. Sturdy mortise-and-tenon construction provides the highest-quality joinery, which will last for many years.

Features:
  • Set of 2 folding chairs for outdoor use

  • Made of durable, all-weather eucalyptus hardwood with warm, mahogany brown tone; no assembly required

  • Mortise-and-tenon construction with rust-resistant hardware; slatted seat and back with tilted angle for maximum comfort

  • The height from the floor to the top of the arm rest is 25.39 inches

  • Each chair measures 23.82 inches deep by 20.27 inches wide by 36 inches high; weighs 17.63 pounds

4Compare oiled v. unoiled after 7 months  Nov 25, 2007
By J. Gallagher
Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R3QO0S668W4HPH I bought these Strathwood chairs and a matching bistro table about 7 months ago. I've oiled one, and left the other and the table unoiled for comparison. I'll let the video do the talking. Literally. :)

1poor quality  Apr 05, 2011
By Bb Bcl "jw"
Actually we have purchased 4 of these chairs. We were very impressed with the first set, but unfortunately, the second set has not been as good. Within 2 weeks and little use, 1 chair developed problems in the folder/slider in the legs. The peg came out of the groove that it should slide it, and the horizontal bar that stopped it broke out and collapsed. We tried to screw the bar in place, but there is too much pressure on it, so it did not work. And then after about 4 months, the other chair developed a problem in the right arm....it too collapsed. So we are disappointed and would not recommend purchase.

4Nice looking, comfortable...  Jun 06, 2006
By nobaboon "nobaboon"
Chairs seem pretty great, and really more comfortable than I expected. Where the wood is fastened together with bolts, there is a little more movement than I'd like, but as long as the wood itself stands up to the weather, I don't foresee any problems. The price is incredible.

(I got a bunch of this Strathwood stuff, and it's all pretty good so far!)

5Great for the price, sturdy and attractive  Jul 20, 2008

We purchased this set of 2 folding armchairs to go with the matching bistro table. They look amazing on our balcony-- the color of the wood is beautiful and classic. We added two cushy seat cushions from IKEA and really recommend getting seat cushions, as it makes the chairs quite comfortable (I've sat on them for about 3 hours straight doing work). The chairs are sturdy, attractive and have held up well in the heat and humidity of New York City. We got them when Amazon was having a summer patio furniture sale and the price was unbeatable. The chairs were $89.99, the table was $21.52, plus shipping the total was about $150. An amazing set for the price.

2Looks nice, falls apart  Aug 26, 2011
By Brian
I did a lot of research to find a nice set of patio chairs made from wood that is sustainably harvested, and was quite happy when I first got it. I kept the chairs out of the sun, applied teak oil twice to keep the wood in good condition, and just after owning them for a year had both chair break within a few weeks of each other. The seats cracked at the back where they attach to the legs, and there is no way to repair them. The people that used them only weight about 170lbs and there is no reason the chairs should crack, but I noticed upon looking at the construction that the pins that secure them only go in about an inch, which is a very poor design. I will not buy these again and next time will be looking for something that is of higher quality and made in the U.S.
