Your first real spin racket Jul 26, 2007

In ping pong, each racket has its advantage. This is one of the first rackets that you can generate a lot of spin with. It's for the player that likes using spin. A key point to keep in mind is that spongy rackets not only generate spin but they absorb spin too. Wooden rackets generate little spin and absorb very little spin, these are the rackets that come in a different set and have a rating of 28. If you are a speed and placement player than you should get one of the lower rating rackets. They will absorb little spin from your opponent, and actually return the spin back to them, but you also will be unable to generate spin on the ball. Personally, I think spin rackets are better because you can return a ball that jumps left, right, forward, or backward after hitting the opponents side. Also, spin rackets let you smash the ball regardless of height. Your ball will initially fly above the table as if it is going out but then arc back down on to the opponent's side. That's something you can't do with a more wooden racket. You can notice a big difference between this 42 rated racket and the 28 rated racket in terms of spin. I've played with a 52 and 56 racket as well and although there is a difference it is not as big as the difference between a 28 and 42.

Great for casual players Jul 06, 2008
By icechai Have been using it for 4 months now and it's great for the casual beginner -> intermediate player. Not too heavy but with enough weight so you can really feel the oomph when you smash / loop the ball.

Excellent Paddle for Players, Good Thickness, Ok on Tact Mar 21, 2007
By Jeremy M. Crawford I purchased this paddle for my wife, while I purchased the EuroTech. The EuroTech is great for me for strong spin, Control, and Playing deep off of the table. My wife plays closer, and is not as hard of a spinner, but the control of this paddle and the balance of the weight is great for her. In a matter of a week, she loves using this paddle (we play a few days a week) vs. a couple of other "el cheapo" paddles. I give this a 5 star rating for entry players and players that play close and don't use alot of spin, but if you are a spinner and a deeper player, it is worth the extra few bucks to upgrade to the even better EuroTech.

Too heavy and spongy. Mar 31, 2007
By Physics Rules I bought this for one of my children but it is a bit heavy and too spongy, severly lacking speed. I also bought the Stiga Champion which is lighter and faster. I would spend $6 more and get a paddle which helps play instead of hindering it.
