Worth the price Feb 19, 2009
By A. Harrison Good value for the money, which is very cheap compared to other play food sets, but that is partly because the quality is not be best. You can see the seams from the molds on some foods, and the color of some of the food isn't completely true to life, but it's nothing a child would notice though. One thing I wish were different were the types of food - it would have been good if there were less "junk food" (potato chips, donuts, pretzels, etc.), but with the surprise exception of some foods (no chicken??), I was generally quite happy with the selection of food. I agree with another reviewer though - I wish there were an index, because I couldn't identify some of the foods.

Great Variety! Nov 26, 2008

I bought this for my daughter and was very pleased with the variety of food in the set. I'm GLAD tere are no boxed food anymore.. I fould those to be the ones least played with!
The bacon is flexible, the tortilla looks so real, and the sushi is adorable. I think this is a great value considering the quality, and the quantity of the pieces. I think there are a few pieces of food that I can't identify.. so I wish it came with a list. Overall I'm very pleased !

Realistic, durable, variety Jan 03, 2009

We were very pleased with the number of pieces included at the price - very reasonable. There is a nice variety of fruit, meets, veggies, and sweets. Some pieces I set aside for later given the size since my little one is 16 months old (but less than 10 of them). There are also some pieces I am not sure what they are - kidney beans? baked beans? and what is the two pieces that are rubber and flexible (pasta sauce)??? The sushi and soy sauce are a nice added treat to add in some ethnic food. I would recommend.

Very cheesy looking set Feb 03, 2010

The pictures for this set look decent, but the actual pieces are very poor quality and not realistic. The molds are very this plastic and they get dented very easily. Most pieces don't even look like food. Don't understand why the taco is the largest food item in there. Ended up buying a different set at Toys R Us that is much more realistic and better quality for the same price, but with only 50 pieces. My child is much happier with the new ones.

Great for learning and fun Jul 04, 2011

I purchased this play food for my nieces when they were 1.5 years old. They absolutely love it! It's amazing how we have been able to use the food to teach them so many concepts. They've learned new words for foods they've never eaten, and more importantly, in my opinion, the play food encourages their imaginations. They love to cook their food and serve it to everyone, and they get such a kick out of it when you make a big deal about how good it is.
The food is small enough for tiny hands, but too big for them to get all the way in their mouth. It's sturdy enough to keep its shape when pretend bites get rough. There is a good variety of fruits and vegetables, but I do wish the set did not include foods such as french fries and hamburgers. We just took those out.
