Great Portable Basketball Hoop Aug 04, 2010 This portable basketball hoop is as good as regular indoor basketball hoop at my highschool gym. The only difference is the size of the backboard is a little smaller. The backboard is very solid not like other portables where you shoot the basketball against the backboard and the whole hoop shakes. This one doesn't do that. The adjustment of the hoop is easy by just turning the crank in the back.
Cons: I does take two people about 6 hours to put together. One person can not do it by themselves.
Overall: I would highly recomend this basketball hoop to anybody. I think I enjoy this hoop as much or more than my son does. It should last us for long while. Even though it costs a little more buy this hoop you will not be dissatisfied.
Great Basketbal Hoop Jul 27, 2010 The basketball hoop took some time in the setup process but was very easy to do. This is probably one of the best basketball hoops I have owned and my kids just love it. Even though it is a portable, with the tempered glass backboard and you fill the base full with water or sand, it feels just like an inground hoop setup. No movement or swaying from side to side. Great basketball equipment.
Very Nice But It Does Move Jul 20, 2010 Hi, after reading the reviews I bought this model (68454). Please be advised, it does move. It does not wobble like my previous one, but it moves when the ball hits it, all the tension seems to be where the two back struts
go into the base. If you want one that does not move at all, buy the Beast. Unfortunately I could not afford $1000.
DO THIS TO STABILIZE IT MORE, I bought a 2x8 and cut it 61 3/4 inches long, painted it black with spray paint to match. Then I put one end in the base where the rear depression is, which is right in front of the drain plug. Then I lodged the other end under the height adjustment bracket. You will have to manually push the pole away from you while doing this. This stabilized the unit considerably. I shoot now with very little movement, and it becomes still almost immediately after the shot. Warning, I do not know if this will decrease the life of the unit, all I know is it is more enjoyable for us. Thanks

Perfect system Jun 25, 2010 This is a great system - just completed installing it yesterday. Once it's up , it's solid, well built, great bounce off the backboard - you'll be very happy you bought it. While the instructions aren't great - putting this thing up isn't exactly that tough. I was really contemplating paying someone to put this thing up for me (after reading some of the online posts but am really glad I saved the money)
Couple of pointers
1) You need 2 people - just no way one person can do it
2) You can get it up in 3.5 - 4 hours (without rushing)
3) Read some of the reviews on the "problem steps" - they helped me a lot.
a) "bouncing" - the post section together - in "real life" - means applying some lubericant and slamming the sections downwards onto a piece of wood multiple times (that worked for me - with "gentle bouncing" you may be there for a few years)
b) When it comes to attaching the rim - the instructions are confusing - there is a square piece that looks like it should be metal in the instructions, but in reality it's a foam piece that is already stuck onto the backboard
Apart from the 2 "problem steps" above, no problems putting this together. The system is fantastic . My son loves it . Have fun....

Super Buy Excellent Value Great Product May 22, 2010 We are very pleased with this purchase and would highly recommend this product to those in the market for a residential basketball system with an institutional performance. Furthermore, assembly requires about 3 hours with most of the work only requiring one person.
