 Just OK for the price Jul 04, 2010
I have seen similar backboards, and was aware of the thinness of the plastic polycarbonite material. It looks OK but the plastic is glued to the steel frame with black adhesive and is not perfectly flat. The rebound is OK, but not what I expected. At this price, it works well enough. I would say it works fine for informal use and kid's play, but this is not a backboard for the serious player.

Bought this to replace an older Spalding 48" that had broken. Took 2-3 hours to switch out. Ran into a couple of problems and had to buy a few parts, but all-in-all went up fine. The plastic is acrylic (vs polycarbonate), definitely thinner, and has a more hollow sound. I think we can get used to that. You can definitely do better if you want to spend the $$, but this isn't bad.

We have a half court in our backyard, and our son shoots a lot of hoops. This is holding up beautifully, looks wonderful, and the price was right. I confess, I had a professional put it up, so I have no idea how hard installation was. I'm assuming it was a little rough, since my husband joined in on the "fun." But they had it up in an hour.

This is a very nice backboard. Although we haven't put it up yet because we originally intended to install it above our garage using the universal mounting bracket which was also purchased. Unfortunately, the mounting bracket does not work above our garage because of our gutters. We just ordered the pole to attach the backboard to and are expecting it to arrive this week. But, as for the look of the backboard- VERY NICE.

Arrived on time. Good quality. Replaced damaged backboard in a size that was not carried in any local store. Kids love the red color.
