Looks and works great, but quality so-so Aug 13, 2010 I bought this to go with the U-turn 310 pole system, since Amazon says it is frequently bought with it. But, beware, it doesn't fit the pole system with the supplied hardware (you have to modify a couple of pieces). So be sure you have a pole system that will fit this board first. How you find that out is beyond me, because not even the Spalding website tells you what works with what. Aside from the pole, the backboard/rim itself goes together fairly smoothly and looks great when done. Now for the bad: 1) the back of the board has water spots or wax or something all over it, and I had to use scratch remover to get it off. 2) I had to use a utility knife to remove some of the adhesive caulk used to connect the board to the board frame in order to get the mounting brackets to fit. 3) the holes in the mounting brackets were slightly too small for the mounting bolts, so I had to ream out the paint in the holes to make it fit. 4) I paid $179 for it, and two weeks later it was $150. Bummer. I've only used it a couple of days, but so far it works as intended.
Assembly Instructions Could Be Better Organize Jun 28, 2010 Good product but the assembly instructions were not organized well. I found myself going back and forth through several pages of the instruction booklet repeatedly to complete the next step.
For the price, it works great! May 14, 2010 I wish the system was a little more rigid, but for the price you can not go wrong. It was easy to assemble and we were playing basketball in about 2.5 hours. I installed on my garage and used the adjustable mounting system. The mounting system does affect some of the lack of rigidity.

Poor quality - First one arrives broken, second one falls apart Jun 14, 2009 The first one of these I received was broken - the clear acrylic backboard sheet (like plexiglass) was broken in one corner, and was scratched in several other places.
Amazon sent a replacement, which was in better shape.
On both of them, the actual backboard material is much thinner than I expected - it looks like 1/4 inch clear plexiglass type material. I was expecting something much thicker and more robust. overall fit and finish was poor on both the original unit they sent as well as the replacement - the paint on the backboard itself and on the frame were both poorly applied.
The rim seems to be much better quality than the backboard and frame.
To add insult to injury, after being up for about four months, (in our relatively mild California climate) the backboard Plexiglass came unglued from the frame. Fixable, but a big pain.
Net is poor quality, twice over...

Product Description is not accurate Apr 09, 2009 I will preface this by saying that none of the items below make it a bad product, I think it will be fine, it's just that the description is inaccurate.
1) The backboard is acrylic, not polycarbonate.
2) The frame is steel, not aluminum.
Both of these things may be important to buyers because polycarbonate is a superior material to acrylic, and aluminum (obviously) won't rust over time as the (painted) steel frame may.
I am disappointed that it was not what it was represented to be because I thought I was getting more for my money than I really did. In the end it will be fine and we will enjoy it, but it is still frustrating.
