    5Correct size for 1920 x 1200  Sep 24, 2008
    By vintner "vintner"
The vital consideration for a monitor is the relation between diagonal measurement of size and the number of pixels on the screen--neither one alone is enough. I've found this 27-inch monitor to be perfect for 1920 x 1200 (from a ThinkPad T61p with digital connection). A display this size needs to be further away from the eyes to see everything; I find about 30 inches from my face to be comfortable. At this distance both the Windows UI and webpage defaults produce type which is easy to read and still gets a lot of content onscreen at once. In Word, for example, it is very easy to edit two documents side by side seeing all of both full pages at the same time. In a browser it is easy to see two webpages side by side.

    5Best monitor deal ever  May 08, 2008
    By John
I love this monitor. I bought it as an upgrade from a Gateway FPD2275W (same resolution), and I must say it was worth every penny.

While this may be an expensive monitor given its resolution, you have to keep in mind that text is extremely crisp and easy to read from a distance. I didn't feel that higher dot pitch (.303) created a problem whatsoever. Higher resolutions are nice, but when I viewed Apple's 30in cinema display I had to be pretty close to read small Web page print. This has got to be one of the best monitors for general all round tasks. I also do non-professional graphics/audio work on this, and the screen real estate is amazing.

I am very happy to report this works just great with Mac Mini 2.0GHz! I was concerned, since this display is right at the edge of what it supports. But thankfully it works great using DVI cable. I had to go through the menu once and tell it "DVI" in order to get a display, and then had to reboot Mac mini.

Colors, saturation, gamma all look good to me. I have heard professionals say it needs calibration, but to my relatively untrained eye it is fine out of the box. Keep in mind this display can reproduce 97% of the color gamut, whereas competition is usually in the 79-91% range. Out of the box this is equivalent to staring at the sun. I turned mine way down from 100 to 65, which should also help lower the 130W power draw (ouch!)

Aesthetically it's pleasing. It isn't the nicest I've seen (my Gateway is prettier), but it looks attractive aside from its monster size and huge S A M S U N G across the lower bezel. Don't forget what a monster a 27in monitor really is! It sits about 18-20in away, and you still have to turn your head to view the whole screen haha!

I can't say I'm displeased with anything. I wish it cost less. I suppose high end graphics pros would be disappointed with the resolution given its cost. If that's you, perhaps you should be looking at a 30in display. You had better have pretty good corrected eyesight as well.

Finally let me say that this S-PVA panel, while technically inferior to S-IPS, is really good. This thing is leaps and bounds better than TN panels. It is brighter with better saturation. Some people on the Internet also complained of input lag. Perhaps this becomes noticeable if you are an avid gamer, but I cannot tell that this has any lag whatsoever when doing routine Internet/Photoshop/general tasks. I just can't tell whatsoever.

    Great buy. 5 stars.

5Perfect Monitor for Mac Pro  May 14, 2008
    By M. Feldman
Samsung's 275t+ paired with a Mac Pro makes for the perfect professional desktop workstation. I am a professional in the graphic arts field. Generally, I will have at least 5 programs open and many windows visible or accessible at all times. I needed a very large monitor with excellent color. This 27" monitor gives me the space I need and has exceptional color with the best built-in calibration tools that I have ever seen on a monitor. The size is very close to Apple's 30" Cinema Display, but is over $700 less. One other feature that you cannot over look is that the Apple monitor as well as most other brands only offer a one-year warranty, but this Samsung comes with a three-year warranty.

    4no speakers as shown  Jul 05, 2009
    By gadgetmaster "gadgetmaster"
The photo shows speaker bar between rectangular screen and oval stand. This is not included and does not exist as an accessory for purchase. Otherwise this is a fine monitor.

The latest browser releases are starting to support all element page scaling, but less dense DPI of the 275T (compared to 30" panels) assures more distant viewing of all applications. You won't have to resort to reading glasses.

DUAL link DVI is not required. The HDMI input is not computer worthy and has overscan issues.

Would be better with multiple DVI inputs and multiple upstream USB ports. With these additional connections it would serve as KVM switch. Current HDMI KVM boxes are flakey and crazy expensive.

    4Nice monitor  Apr 06, 2009
    By Jim Collings
So far I have been happy with the monitor. I had a 22" and going to 27" has been great. I originally looked at 30" but went with the 27" because of cost. If I would have a waited until now I could get a 30" for the same price. I have experienced some issues where the display will randomly just turn some weird colors. This has happened on startup also. I just restart the computer again and the issue goes away. I have traced the problem and it may be my video card or something else. As long as this monitor continues to work for the next couple of years, I will be happy with the purchase.
