Jack of all trades. Master of some! Jan 07, 2011
By BlueBMW I have been looking for a good bluetooth headset to use while I'm working. I wanted one that I could use for both music and phone calls.
The HM3500 does both perfectly! I have it simultaneously connected to my iPod touch and Droid X phone. I can be listening to music from the ipod and it will pause to take a call from my Droid. After the call my music will resume.
About my only complaint is that the headset doesn't tell me who is calling. Not a big deal.
The sound quality is good in either the earbud mode or just using the mono earpiece. Probably the coolest feature is the two adapters that come with the headset. One connects the headset to a male headphone jack. Perfect for plugging into an aux in on a car. The other adapter gives you a female jack that you can plug any headphones into. Nice for if you don't like the headphones that come with the unit or if you break them by accident.
Overall an excellent unit!

Design Flaws and Bad Customer Support Mar 18, 2011
By John T. Mealy III First the good. It's definitely a great concept and very useful. I commute to work on the subway, and my messenger bag was always ripping my old earbuds out when I'd have to run for a train. Taking the long cord to my phone out of the equation was the perfect solution. The sound quality is great, and the noise cancellation allows just enough in to let me know what's going on around me, while still giving excellent priority to my music.
Now, the bad. First of all, the signal is easily interrupted, so you can't have your arm or body between your phone and the device when listening to music. I did learn to avoid this, for the most part, though.
Second and most importantly, the interchangeable rubber ear plugs will not stay on. Without these, the piece is literally useless.
I lost the first (best fitting) ear plugs immediately, and it became apparent that I couldn't just put the product in my pocket and have it stay intact. I still lost the second set within a month, and when I called Samsung seeing if they'd concede a design flaw and send me some free ones, the guy on the phone was kind of snide and told me I'd have to go to the site and buy replacements. After spending $60 on the thing, this was annoying to say the least. The very next day, the rubber earpiece on the bluetooth itself fell off and is gone forever. The very-useful clip that attaches the cord to my clothes was also quick to jump ship.
So now it's a few months later, and one of the final set of earbud pieces has fallen off and gone missing. I bight the bullet and go to the site to buy replacements, and I can't find them anywhere. Seriously - I've scoured the site.
So yeah, great product support, Samsung. And way to look after the customer who used to be willing to shell out top dollar for your product. I can't stand a company that thinks getting your money is the last they'll ever have to deal with you.

Top Marks all around - this is a great headset Dec 01, 2010
By B. Peach I am very pleased with this headset. People regularly tell my they couldn't tell I was using one. I wear it for extended periods and usually within a half hour I forget it is there. The volume through the ear buds is excellent good, and through the mono ear piece is acceptable.
I have been using Bluetooth headsets since they were a novelty eight years ago. This product demonstrates they have come a very long way.
I use this product simultaneously with an iPhone and a GN Netcom GN6110 desk phone handset replacement (circa 2004).

Love it! Mar 23, 2011
By ItsTheMole I've had this for about a year now. The battery is starting to die more quickly as of late but over all it worked great with my Droid Incredible and now my Rooted G1.
It would disconnect at times when switching between apps on the Incredible but I think that was software more than hardware as I haven't had the same issues with the rooted G1.
Still an amazing piece of hardware. There have been a few times I forgot I was wearing it and stepped into the shower with it on my ear (realized it before it got wet though, phew!).
I'm jamming to some tunes on it right now.

The device I want to love Jun 15, 2011
By Robert K. Mertz This is one of those items that it kills you not to like it but yet it has it's quirks that just annoy you. In the functioning of this headset it is absolutely perfect. The battery life is great as well as the range and the audio quality using a decent set of headphones is great but there are some serious design annoyances. The biggest annoyance to me is that I purchased this item to use it as a bluetooth transport to listen to music from my MacBook but the mono earbud attached to the device is not removable so, despite it having a clip for your shirt/belt, it needs to be carried in your pocket because the earbud extends past the clip. Additionally it does not have a built in 3.5 headphone jack so you have to use an adaptor to plug into the micro USB port which wouldn't be half as bad if the adaptor wasn't half the size of the device it's self.
In short, the performance of this is absolutely great but it has some very annoying usability issues that keep this from being the perfect device.
