5Great TV  Apr 25, 2007
By Michelle S Carey "ZETAZEN"
I own this TV along with the Samsung 32" that has 7000:1 contrast ratio. This TV has 4000:1 contrast ratio and is just as good that the 32" with the higher ratio. I am thoroughly enjoying this TV. For the price, this TV is inexpensive that has GREAT quality. Samsung has the LCD technology on lock. This is truly a bang for your buck! Has one of the best pictures I've seen compared to most LCD televisions.

426" or 23"? 42H or 53H?  Aug 29, 2007
By Samuel Chell
I've never been a fan of Samsung products, but they've cornered the market on flat panels so well that my college uses them exclusively. So when our bedroom 19" GE tube model finally bit the dust, it made sense to pick up one of these. When this 42H 26" arrived, I realized it tended to overwhelm the room. For less than a hundred more you can get the 53H 26", which isn't a newer model but a slightly trimmer and more stylish one (as a result of placing the speakers in the bottom, several inches are trimmed off the sides). I decided those few inches still wouldn't pare it down sufficiently, so I went to the 23", which also gives you an option between the side-firing speakers (42H) or bottom ones (53H). Since the frame is thinner on the 53H model, the viewing area "seems" almost as large as the 26" 42H model. Also, the 53H models shave off several pounds, a happy thought when you have a double staircase to climb. On the other hand, if you're fussy about proportioned images and plan to watch television signals in normal 4:3 ratio rather than the wide-screen 16:9, by all means go with the larger set. Even at 26", the actual viewing area in 4:3 ratio won't be much larger than a conventional 20" screen. (Viewers who insist that the set can faithfully render a 4:3 image in widescreen ratio simply don't have an eye for symmetry and proportion. Personally I can tolerate the mildly misshapen figures; my wife, a mathematician, cannot, so the sides of the screen remain unlit.)

5Great TV for a smaller area!  Nov 07, 2007
By Zachary Schaeffer
I was in the process of looking for a nice LCD TV and came across this one at a price I just couldnt pass up. The image is great. 5000:1 contrast ratio in my opinion is great for a $500-$800 tv. The picture quality is amazing. I have my PS3 hooked up via HDMI at 1080i and I love it.

Pros: price; great tv for a smaller room. Picture quality is extremely sharp. Sound is very good for small tv speakers (audio out is also included on this tv) Lots of inputs including 2 HDMI and 1 PC Input. Internal HD Tuner is a plus. I received about 5 digital channels over my basic cable.

Cons:So far I have not been able to get the Picture in Picture to work. Havent played much with it yet so it could just be my error. I know the PIP will not work with cable/cable but to my understanding it should work with cable/other input.

Overall I would definately reccomend this tv for someone that is looking at their first HDTV or someone who is looking for another HD set for their home.

4Great TV, Great Price  Aug 31, 2007
By E. Wilson
Have been very satisfied with the purchase of this Samsung TV thus far. Set-up was easy, picture is wonderful, sound fantastic. The internal antennae feature has doubled the number of channels I receive (I don't have cable/dish) and has improved the quality of the picture on those I did receive before. Would definitely recommend this model to others, especially when the closest competitor was at least $100 more.

5Samsung HDTV is excellent  Dec 14, 2007
By J. A. Topps
This is the perfect LCD HDTV for a bedroom or other smaller room. It has a brilliant picture, great menus and the side mounted speakers are fine for average listening. It has two HDMI inputs so connection to a cable set top box is a snap. The unit has a graphic equalizer so you can shape the sound to your listening pleasure. Often I read reviews of smaller HDTVs where the reviewer downgrades the speakers. I was concerned about this when we started looking for a 26" set. My fears were for naught. It isn't "home theater" quality but it isn't the tinny sound some people describe. It's lightweight and can be moved from room to room with little effort. Highly recommended.
