Looks great, no problems Aug 07, 2009
By S. Winterich Set up is easy, performance and value are good and appearance is nice. Set monitor control in Windows XP to 1600 x 900. Attaching the stand is tricky. I paid $140.00 plus tax at wholesale club.
Lay the monitor face down on carpet against the wall to keep the piece steady. Take care not to scratch or force anything. The "arrow" side of the "ball" faces the front of the monitor, and the "straight line" side faces you/faces up. Gently but firmly pop the the "ball" into the socket. Then lift the monitor and ball however you feel comfortable and attach and screw the bottom base to the "ball." Diagram enclosed with the monitor is not as clear as it can be.

Sleek and beautiful, with a frustrating stand set-up Jul 31, 2009
By Mr. M I bought this at a local brick & mortar shop. I am putting together a computer set-up for my classroom (with mac mini) and was going to go with a cheaper Acer model until I saw them in the store. This Samsung looked impressive on display: sturdy and sleek, with a picture that popped. The border is glossy - much like my Samsung television. The border on the Acer looked and felt like cheap plastic.
Like another reviewer, I had a problem with the stand. You can't be gentle with it. I covered the top of my couch with a sheet, put the monitor face up on it, then shoved in the stand as hard as I could.
Since then, there have been no problems. I love this monitor!

Good monitor Jul 28, 2009
By Frank Just purchased from a big box store for 10 bucks cheaper than Amazon. You really can't beat the value of this performance for the price. I've owned several Samsung monitors, and all have been excellent. Great picture quality, and longevity. As one reviewer noted, the method of attaching the base to the monitor is a little odd, but once you line up the pegs & holes, it snugs right up.
It does all the things you expect a monitor to do. Windows XP sees it right away & lets me set the resolution to 1600x900 - didn't even need to install the included software.
Also, for those who don't know the lingo, the "15 pin D-Sub" connection is the VGA connection than most PCs made in the last 10 years use. No worries about connectivity.

nice screen "but" Dec 26, 2009

Very nice screen output, very bright and has the necessary controls needed for a monitor, BUT, the stand is serious drawback for a picky user. I got the base on but looked at the screen with head tilted to the right. For what ever reason the screen was tilted with the right side lower. I have placed a old mouse pad under the right side to raise it a little. Just going to add felt feet to one side of the base. This does reduce the overall product which is should be unnecessary. All Samsung needed was to improve a obvious defect but they choose not to do due. And yes, it does wobble on my desk but we only use for normal home internet use, I found it is bearable. This product should have 4 to 5 rating but the issue on the base brings it down, sorry they choose this action.

Stand won't attach Jul 28, 2009
By S. Hanson I had high hopes for this monitor, it would be my second Samsung monitor and the last one was stellar. I unpacked it and couldn't get past installing the stand! I read the box, the printed instructions and combed the CD for tips or clarification. Nothing. I got help from a co-worker and HE couldn't do it, even when applying all of his considerable strength. Buyer beware, this may be troublesome for you.
