We purchased this lamp directly from the samsung website last november and its already dead. I guess it doesn't matter where you get it from. It's life is only 6 months.

By J. Whittle we ordered this item as a replacement for our television in november of 2009. it was indeed easy to replace and worked fine. but here we are in june of 2010 - just outside the six-month warranty period - and it has already died, forcing us to purchase yet another $130 replacement lamp. i've purchased from a different source this time in hopes that it will last longer. if the second one fails so quickly, i'll probably look at purchasing a new tv. $130 every six months is not acceptable.

By rzaman Ordered this thing back in March...it is now August and the stupid thing died in the middle of watching tv. We have not even used this bulb 2000 hours probably so the 6000 hour rating is a lie. Do not get this bulb if you have a DLP. I think we are going to just get a new tv because replacing bulbs every 6 months is annoying and will end up costing more than a new tv in the long run.

By C. Cook Received this item approximately 7/28/10; it's 9/11/10 and is no longer functioning. Totally unacceptable for such an expensive item. Requested a replacement since it is warranteed for 6 months, will add more when receive response from seller.
