4speaker that is good on your wallet  Jan 07, 2010

good speakers. just need to use a high pass filter from your radio if your radio has a built in high pass crossover and you will get good mids and highs and less bass on speaker cones so not to damage the speakers because they are not desighn to put out bass. you need to supplement your system with a sub woofer which they are design for.

These speakers sound great. Perfect retrofit into FZJ80 LandCruiser to fit behind factory speaker grills.

4Good for a bargain install, powerful for their size.  Feb 03, 2009

I needed a good 4 inch speaker as my 1983 Mazda Rx-7 maxes out at this size in the front. I was skeptical to buy cheap $20 4 inch speakers. I had bought Pioneer 6.25 inch speakers for the rear in a retail store (the 6.25 inchers got WAY worse reviews than these 4-inch ones) and I wasn't to impressed with the 6.25 inch ones. They couldn't handle bass at all, but once again, those sizes were maxed out in the rear for a 25 year old car with a $300 budget on a stereo system. (Pioneer Head unit $120, Pioneer 6.25s in the rear $50, these Pioneer 4 inch speakers in the front $20). When they got here, I noticed the magnets were quite strong, after the install, I then realized why these speakers got such better reviews! They sound so much better, and handle Bass decently for their size. They sound so much better than the larger rear speakers. I am no audio guy, and do not know speaker model numbers and whatnot, but I think these 4 inch speakers are from a higher end series by Pioneer, I'm sure if I had matched the 6.25 inch speakers from this series of speaker, I would have been much happier, but these speakers have been great. They're no Harmon Kardon or Infinity, or Bose speakers, but they are great for a budget install like mine.

5Decent for the price  Sep 02, 2008

These are nice speakers for the price, the highs are just slightly louder than the lower end models but overall decent.

5Very nice for the money  Nov 13, 2006

Replaced a rattling pair of Boston Acoustics CX4's with these. The bass is not quite as good I have an 8" Rockford sub, and the bass from these alone would be a bit weak. Higher range response seems fine, but I am no expert. These suit my needs at a very reasonable price.
