Works with iPhone 3G Aug 21, 2008

I bought this head unit mostly because I wanted one that would interface well with the iPhone 3G (i.e. provide power AND sound, instead of just using a standard auxiliary jack which also works fine but requires you buy a separate car charger). So far, so good. I do have some gripes with the design of the unit and the menu - but I think just like all things new, it just takes some getting used to. Sounds great with my factory speakers.

Pioneer for use with ipod in car Aug 19, 2008

A beautiful machine, the sound is great, masses of options - BUT, BUT, BUT... Pioneer put the controls on a single wheel. You view your options by rotating the wheel and select by pressing right in the center of the wheel. This can be difficult when driving, and you often select something you did not wish to. What a shame the center select is not an independent button! One other thing: although you access your playlists, they do not appear in exactly the same form as on your ipod.

Lived up to expectations! Feb 20, 2009
By Joyce Friedrich All the reviews that I read said that the sound is the best! They were right! Operating the player is no problem after a short orientation. Only problem we had was that the plastic dash of the truck had to be altered for the player to fit....although Pioneer's said it was compatible. The mp3 format for playing cd's is too cool! Well worth it!

Great receiver Jan 25, 2009
By Jay A lot of options, easy to navigate once you get used to it, great sound, custom equalizer, works with Ipod flawlessly. I always thought remotes were silly because the radio is at a arms length anyway, but I was wrong and can't live without it now. Nothing more annoying than adjusting your radio and hitting a bump in the road. A remote takes that annoyance away.
From personal experience, and from what I've read, it doesn't seem to work with the smaller USB drives(mine was a 2GB), so I bought a 16GB and it works fine with it.
There's some minor issues with the USB that I've found. The ordering of songs gets mixed up within album folders even if you follow the proper naming convention. Random seems pretty weak also. I have about 200 albums on there but it seems to get stuck playing only a few different ones, and if you press forward it won't play the next song in random, only the next in the album.
Other than those little quirks I'm extremely happy with it.

Great radio! Aug 01, 2009
By Doit2it Bought this unit to replace an Aiwa head unit that just stopped working. The Pioneer P6000UB is a great car stereo. This tuner pulls in stations better than my previous unit. There's one station that would always fade with the Aiwa, but it's rock solid now. The CD player sounds great. I always burn my own MP3 disks so the 2 line display of artist and song title works for me. The text scroll is kinda slow though, almost tediously slow. Using the AUX1 (Stereo 3.5 phono lack) works good to. My previous unit, I had to turn the volume all the way up to hear music on my phone or MP3 player, works at normal volume with this unit. Normal volume for me is about 30, the max goes to 62 (? weird number). I've cranked it up a couple of times. I've never heard a unit sound so clear when maxed out, and that's through the stock Honda speakers I use. I've only used the USB once but I've got a 32Gb flash on order to have my full discography on tap. The Advanced Sound Retriever feature really fills out the sound. Some people have said they don't like the multifunction dial, I love it. It does take a little while to get used to it but once mastered, it's great. Who need preset buttons, just press the top or bottom of the dial to scroll through your stations. I purchased the P6000UB over the P5100UB mainly because the dial was larger. Overall, I'm VERY happy with the P6000UB!
