Agree with others regarding this and it's sister unit the DEH-P5000UB. Very solid mid-range head unit and a very fine replacement for stock system. Using the knob to navigate the menus is tricky and honestly you'll have to be careful while driving especially until you learn the system.
Speaking of that you'll want to sit in your car with the manual and go through page by page and play with it so you get familiar. If you don't take the time to do this you may find yourself frustrated.
While it says that it has a '50 watt x 4' internal amp the 50 watt is actually peak power. The RMS rating for this amp is actually 14 x 4...so basically you're not going to get a whole lot of push to your speakers. To maximize this product you'll need an external amp.
This unit is identical to the DEH-P5000UB with the following exceptions:
1. Internal Amp off mode is available on the P500UB not the P5000UB
2. Face case included
3. Premier status - the P500UB is a Premier product and comes with a 2 year warranty vice one.

This is a good choice for people who wants to use the IPOD, and keep it in the Glove Box.
The interface is easy to use, good graphics.
Unfortunately, after some months I had some bad contact problems with the removable face.

This stereo is great. There is only one thing that sucks on it and that is the 'joystick' you have to use to navigate through the menus. It makes it hard to use. but most of all having to press down on up,down,r or L makes it sem like the knob will wear out sooner rather than later.
Otherwise this stereo is excellent for all other features that matter when it comes to performance. It wouldn't have been that hard to have 2 of the 4 buttons on the four corners around the joystick to be for (search, ff, etc.)
