I was a penaten baby and now my baby is a penaten baby. Can't find our tin of it (baby probably carried it somewhere else after being changed, he enjoys playing with the tin) so borrowed a neighbor's Desitin and p-u, does that stuff stink! I'm assuming it works just as well, but I prefer my baby not to smell like petroleum... I smear a little bit of the penaten on my baby's butt every other day or so, when there's a little redness and by the morning, all the redness is gone. Why this is not sold in the US is beyond me - I assume J&J has a competing product and doesn't want to cannibalize??

From previous close familiarity, my wife asked me to order Penaten skin cream for herself and for our daughter and soon-to-be grandchild. Her only complaint was that I didn't order enough. She uses this cream daily, and loyally swears it is the best of its kind now available.

I was told by a friend that this is the best stuff. She was right! Any skin irritation(on kids, adults, elderly, even dogs)is cleared up within hours. I bought 2 of these to add to baby shower gift baskets.

I used Penaten with all my children who are now adults. I ordered this for my daughter to use on our grandson. It is very good for the rash on a baby's bottom
