4Good designs and many pieces  Nov 26, 2008
By R. Ferguson
This truck does not have the wow factor of some of Lego's other Technic models (e.g., the bulldozer or excavator) but both of the included designs are still pretty good and are excellent for play. I am also appreciative of the fact that this set does not have Power Function motors; not every large Lego set needs to be battery operated. Also, at MSRP, the set is a good value for its large number of useful parts for other projects. As of the writing of this review (November 2008), this set is no longer in production and is no longer available directly from Lego. It won't be long before prices begin to rise above MSRP. When they do, you may want to consider some of the forthcoming 2009 Technic sets instead.

5Dump truck and a crane in one  Aug 13, 2008
By QA1008
Excellent value for its price. Combine a dump truck and a crane in one. It's rather large. Bigger than the cherry picker by one scale and on par with the fire truck. However, the mobility of the crane is limited. The rear suspension at maximum travel scrapes the chassis. Take a while to put together, 4 hr for a seasoned Lego builder.

5Great Product  Mar 13, 2008
By Atulya Bhimarasetty
A 23 yr AFOL here. Though a first timer (for lego technic), I've been an avid fan of lego since childhood. This is my first lego technic toy, so it took me some time for building . But I've enjoyed building, and it looks great.

3Nice, but could be better  Dec 16, 2008
By B. Ohm "bohm"
Pros:
- Several functions: winch, crane, hoist box, primitive suspension on rear wheels.
- Blue pieces.
- Both models are interesting and look good.
- Possibilities for modifying (add an engine, more detail on the hoist box, maybe build a trailer and put a claw on the crane to make the model look like a logging truck)

Cons:
- The cab flips up...but for no real reason, as there is no engine, and this makes the truck a little harder to play with, especially on carpet.
- The crane has limited functionality because it is so small.

Overall:
Very happy with the set, though as always I wish it was bigger and more detailed--but making it so is the fun part.
