Great thin HDTV - just watch digital blur Nov 04, 2007
By Spot On I haven't owned another HDTV, so I have little for comparison, but this thing looks great. Great viewing angle, great inputs/outputs. The menu is a little non-intuitive, the channel info box is big and blocks much of the screen until it eventually disappears, and channel changing in general is quite slow, but I think that's common for digital TV. --added a month later-- The HDTV "Blur" seems a excessive with this. Things are very clear unless there is a lot of movement. Dance and Sports are impossible to watch.

Best LCD TV for the money Jun 03, 2008

After months of researching which brand to buy, I decided to stick with Mitsubishi. I had owned one of their TV for close to 20 years before it broke down. The repairman said they don't sell parts for this TV anymore, which forced me to look into purchasing a new TV.
I'd researched many brands of TV including Sony to decide which one was the clearest. Sony to me had the best picture but I was afraid to buy their TV because I had a history of repairs with their TVs.
Then when I saw the high rating on the Mitsubishi LT46133 in Consumer Report, I decided to purchase this TV.
The color is brilliant and the picture looks awesome. I brought an up-conversion DVD player and there's truly a difference in clarity between an up-conversion DVD player and a regular DVD player. I'm just waiting for the Blu-Ray player to go down in price.
The 3 HDMI inputs and 2 of each composite, component and S-video inputs really makes it convenient for all your video equipments.
If you purchase this TV, I suggest you lower the contrast, brightness and back light settings. Otherwise the color white would be too bright.
Amazon was great with delivering this. I ordered this Monday night and the TV was at my apartment Thursday morning.

FREAKIN AWESOME!! Dec 09, 2008

"legendary."
I have to say that I've had this TV for 8 months now and it still is amazing!! I spent a lot of time researching televisions as well (COnsumer report, Walmart, Best Buy, CNET, etc) and had to figure out everything with them. THis tv was definitely the most consistent highest rated TV. As far as the "blur"ing issues, I picked up on them big time during the Macy's parade and the Rockettes kickline. THe TV really couldn't handle the upclose shots of those high legs! Haha, but as far as sports and dancing is concerned I have yet to have an issue. The only concern I have right now is, I have these random moments where the screen will become brighter and then darker, fading in and out. It's very subtle and you really have to catch it when it's a brighter color and I can't seem to figure out if it's the show or the tv. I will probably call Mitsubishi and have them answer that worry. Also, I have a difficult time with my green color. I love the 7 different colors to vary but my green always seems more intense. Nothing that I would ever say, don't get this! But I figured I'd let everyone know my two concerns. Recommendation: If you're thinking of buying this TV, make sure you have at least 6ft of space between your couch and TV. I'm aT 6ft right now and I really could use 8ft. But that's as far as my wall will allow me to go. But anything less than 6ft and the picture really isn't as enjoyable. That's all I have to say. Buy this TV!! Sidenote: they continue to recommend the 120Hz to the 60Hz but I think the picture is better with the 60Hz than the 120. I think the 120 really distorts the picture sometimes and the 60 is far more consistent. Plus it's typically $500 cheaper! Can't go wrong!

Awesome TV at a great price! May 14, 2008

Have owned this set for several weeks now, and absolutely LOVE IT! Spectacular color and picture quality, and great ergonomics with it's thin bezel, slim profile and swivel base. This TV has a great feature set, build quality and connectivity vs. Sony and Samsung, and no shiny black plastic!
I researched this purchase for many weeks, and found the Mitsubishi to be comparable to the best rated sets out there. Overall I'm very pleased with this purchase. Set was purchased and fulfilled from Amazon, and delivered on time without a hitch.

Manufacturing quality caveat Jun 02, 2009
By K. Maxson I've been generally happy with this LCD since I purchased it almost two years ago. I selected it primarily for its dimensions, which let me fit the most screen real-estate in a confined space.
Unfortunately, recently the TV has begun displaying a few black vertical lines towards one edge of the screen. They currently vanish after the display warms up for a time, but experience tells me they'll eventually be permanent. These type of defects in LCDs are often because of faulty connections between the panels and the internal logic -- the fact that mine disappear with heat implies that there is a micro-solder crack that is eventually being bridged through expansion. Another possibility is a fault in the logic board.
Considering how many CRTs operate after 10 or 20 years of use (perhaps with a little additional fuzziness :-), it is depressing to watch this modern TV technology fail. While pretty clearly the result of a manufacturing defect, since the LCD is out of warranty I'm probably SOL, and after under 2 years this $2,000 TV is going to be just another expensive eyesore.
Obviously not all of these are going to have this defect, so I can't condemn the set in general. There is no way for me to tell if the incidence of this problem is high or low with this LCD.
One comment about the software design of this TV for those who use universal remotes -- these days, I'd assume almost everyone. The TV does not provide direct access codes for its various inputs. If you only have two inputs connected, there is a direct code for flipping between them. But once you have three or more, you need a to open up a menu, select the new device, and confirm your selection. Because of the slowness of these operations it is basically impossible to configure a universal remote to directly select a specific input on a single keypress.
