A Beautiful, Well Made Barn Mar 29, 2004
By M. Baker
"mbaker"
My girls; 4,3,&1 years old; received this for Christmas. It's been a hit. Nothing has broken, even when being played with by 5 horse crazy girls. I purchased Schleich horses to go with it, and most (just not the biggest draft type horses) fit perfectly inside. The animals that came with it are fine, but a few of them are pretty scary with orange/red eyes. The animals I remember coming with it were horse, pig, cow, dog, and turkey. HTH
We've had it now for more than 4 years and it is still played with by our now 8, 7, 5, 2, & 1 year olds. The hinge was finally torn, but was easily replaced. Holding up great.

A Terrific Toy for Imaginative Fun! Jan 31, 2004
I got this for my 2 year old twins. They love it. They put the animals in different compartments of the barn, open and close the doors, stalls, and the barn itself. It's a little pricey, but it really is a beautifully made toy. The animals are also very nicely detailed, very sturdy, and no small parts. It's holding up wonderfully, with nary a scratch. We got this as a follow-up to a disappointing purchase with a plastic Noah's ark toy, whose doors were always falling off. (Okay, I'm probably spoiling my kids a bit...) At any rate, the ark is in park, but Noah's animals are welcome to come visit the barnyard.

Great Barn- Not so Great Animals! Aug 03, 2006

We love love love this barn! My two daughters play with it every day and it has held up great. The wood is smooth and well painted and we have had no problems with wear and tear issues. That said... the animals are cheap and not so friendly looking! They remind me of the cheapo plastic animals you buy from the dollar store! Not the high quality we are used to from Melissa and Doug products. So.. buy the barn and toss the silly animals! We replaced ours with nicer rubber animals.

A great buy for under $40... Jul 15, 2007

I just bought this at our local toy store and paid $50 for it. It was a great value at that price as my daughter (2 years old) loves it. It is very well constructed and well finished on the outside. Inside, it has a plain wood with stalls, moving doors, and two floors. It also comes with multiple figures that are well made. When I saw it for only $30 on Amazon, I realized that I had overpaid for it. It is a great play set for kids 2-7 years old.

Durable and lots of fun Apr 20, 2007
By Mom to 2 boys My 2 1/2 year old son who loves animals absolutely adores this little barn! Even though he doesn't have a long attention span (barely one at all!), he will spend lots of time with the barn and the little animals that come with it. He loves opening and closing the doors and talking to the animals. It's been very sturdy as he has climbed and stood on it several times. The little 2-piece fence did break off, but could be glued back on easily. The rest of it hasn't even flinched. ;)
