My son's favorite toy Apr 20, 2007
By Mom to 2 boys We actually bought this on accident. We didn't realize that you had to build the toy so we bought it for our 2 year old son. Needless to say, daddy had to put it together. It took daddy over an hour and he's handy. However, daddy enjoyed it immensely.
That being said, now that it's put together, our 2 year old son ADORES this truck. He plays with it every day and is his favorite toy. The truck is durable and well-made (if daddy does say so himself). Our son pushes it all over the house. It also has a little magnet on the part where the trash goes. So you stick the toy trash bin to the magnetized part and the child can then turn the lever to put the "trash" into the garbage truck.
Really great for truck-lovers. Buy for an older child or buy for a younger child, as long as there's someone handy to put it together!

Great fun, but poorly manufactured Sep 04, 2009
By Calico8 After reading the other reviews on Amazon, I fully expected to spend an hour or more putting this truck together. My 3-year old anxiouly assisted me (mostly by screaming "let's put the wheels on now!"), but we had a great time building it. I wouldn't say this was any more difficult than a bookshelf from Ikea.
My gripes would be that some of the holes were drilled a little bit off so all the pieces are a bit askew when assembled. But the bigger problems were that a few of the drill holes were too small (not a big deal), or too big (kinda a bigger deal) and required a little fill to make the screws stay in. Then the dowels for the wheels were bent so that they were hard to fit into the slots and of course made it impossible for the wheels to spin properly after assembly. But wait... maybe the wheels couldn't spin properly because they are all of slightly different sizes!
What a disappointment. My son still loves the truck, and the price is right, but I would've gladly paid a little more for a better manufactured product.

Once assembled, it is a treasure Aug 29, 2008
By M. Erskine Our 2yr old is enamored with trash trucks - therefore, we picked this up for his birthday gift. Since our tot is too young to assemble the truck, my husband, a professional bicycle mechanic, was charged with putting it together before the party. It took my mechanically capable husband almost 2 hours to assemble it. However - it was completely worth the effort. This was (and, a month later, still is) our toddler's favorite toy. He loves the fact that it comes with a trash can and trash that dump into the truck - just like a "real" trash truck. I would, without hesitation, recommend this toy...just allow yourself some time for assembly. :)

MIGHTY BUILDER MIGHTY FUN! Nov 15, 2007
By Chitabe I purchased this for my son who LOVES garbage trucks. He loved putting this together with his dad. It was easy to assemble and very durable. If your son is into building things, try out this collection (there are other vehicles to choose from). You won't go wrong with this toy!

This truck is not Trash!!! Aug 05, 2008
By Peter A. Green Great truck. Time consuming to put together but well worth the effort. A child's imagination is something to watch while they play with this STURDY truck. It has already outlasted the plastic trucks.
