Doesn't live up to it's potential Nov 10, 2007
By Lide Winburn My son (age 7) and I were looking forward to this game because we both love the characters, and the concept of the game was very promising. Unfortunately, we only played through the first two levels of the game before giving up.
We loved the characters (primarily Bugs and Marvin) and the comments they made while playing, plus the occasional taunts by the villain. We also liked fighting the robots.
However, the Controls were the reasons we ended up sending back early. The nunchuck has to be twisted along it's axis in order to make the characters do a spinning attack, and several of the enemies are only vulnerable to that attack. Also, it's the only way to jump across several key gaps. The castle level has several of these longer jumps, and falling will take you back to the beginning of the series of four to five gaps.
Also, we were playing on a 36" standard TV. We tried splitting the screen both horizontally and vertically (horizontal ended up working best for us), but the Castle section was too dark and the characters too small to keep track of where we were. Several times, we were separated and had a LOT of difficulty finding one another. It was also easy to lose track of each other during the fights.
Honestly, I hope it does well enough to get a sequel, because it is a great idea for a game. However, this one just doesn't do it for us.

What a disappointment Dec 31, 2007
By Damon D I really regret buying this game. Acme Arsenal fails on two levels, both as a video game and as a "Wii" game.
First, as a video game, Acme Arsenal is just a generic third-person shooter with a Looney Tunes look. You might as well be playing Tomb Raider. The game fails to capture the essence of Looney Tunes humor. Instead, you fight robots. Lots and lots of robots. Over and over again.
It should also be stated that the two-player split-screen mode was a really poor choice by the designers. As other reviewers have noted, the separate views for each player make it very easy for players to get separated. Furthermore the camera that follows your character is not very smart, so with only 1/2 of the screen, you will frequently find yourself in positions where you can't see the object onto which you need to jump.
Finally, as a "Wii" game, this is utterly uninspired. You twist and shake the controllers to perform attacks, but this is not any improvement over mashing button combinations. The movements are not natural or intuitive or fun.
What this game SHOULD have been was something along the lines of the Rayman Raving Rabbids games. Like the old Looney Tunes cartoons, Raving Rabbids is 5 or 10 minutes of crazy, laugh-out-loud fun.

What you'd expect from Looney Toons Nov 03, 2007
By Peter Brazil I searched the internet for reviews before buying this game, and I was disappointed to find mostly 1s and 2s. But after buying the game, I can understand why people think the game is too silly for adults and too complex for children. however, it's the Looney Toons; it's not supposed to be sophisticated.
Considering the Wii isn't the graphics powerhouse like PS3 or the 360, this game did really well with the graphics. The Gameplay wasn't too difficult to follow, and anytime you get to zap characters with marvin the martian and bareknuckle box with Foghorn Leghorn, you know you're going to have fun.
If I could change the game, I would create more levels, and make the views adjustable.

Simply Awful, poorly imagined and poorly done Jan 04, 2011
By Carek It should have been a fun game. It should have been a game to play with the kids. It should have been an interesting addition to our video game library. It wasn't.
The game fails from the very first menu, and only gets worse. It's hard to figure out what you are trying to get to, and then when you get there, its near impossible to control.
Granted it's limited by the Wii's hardware, but the primary attack required a movement of the nunchuck that I was only able to get the system to recognize 1 out of every 10 times. This move is also required for any "long" jumps, so expect to die alot during the game.
So, abandoning the campaign, my son and I thought it would be great fun to play the battle mode. There are four maps. One map is too small to play even a two player game, and two are just too dark to play on. If I wanted my TV screen to be black, I would turn it off. That leaves one playable map. Unfortunately, the camera doesn't center on the characters view and its just as likely that I would be looking at my own character as to where he was going. Many times, we passed by each other just trying to get the camera to turn correctly, which unfortunately involves turning in a circle more than once.
The targeting system is near impossible to use. Basically, every single way a person interacts with the game is flawed to the extent that it becomes unusable.
I am truly disappointed, the weapon selection looked interesting. The character models were well done. If only they would have spent some time actually figuring out how someone could play the game, it could have been nice.

This game makes little kids cry. Jun 25, 2011
By Dad of Three This game makes little kids cry.
It is far too hard for a child at the age level where the Looney Tunes characters are appealing to them. There is a doublejump-and-twist motion required to execute almost 1/4 of the jumps in the game that even an adult has a hard time executing. The controls don't work, the required dexterity level is too hard, and the programmed moves just plain don't work.
Also, don't bother checking the internet for walkthroughs, cheats(other than codes that eliminate the save points), or advice. This game is so bad that nobody wasted their time writing one.
