5One of the best Technic sets ever.  Mar 13, 2008
By Dennis B. Smith "Shockbeton"
What a bargain this set is! A mere $25 and it is very fun to build and play with. It is very dense with detail and mechanical features like an articulated 2 cylinder engine with pistons, crankshaft, and even a perfunctory "gearbox" although the gears cannot be changed. The chain drive is a beautiful and conspicuous detail, as are the front and rear suspensions but I think the feature that most delighted me is the exhaust. It runs from the engine through to the tailpipe in a very cleverly designed manner. As is often the case with lego sets, there are instructions included for a secondary model, in this instance a chopper. I haven't had a chance to build that yet though as the dirt bike is so cool. Also significant is the use of the Technic "panels" which with their ambiguous abstract shapes often look tacked on as afterthoughts in other sets. Their use here fits perfectly and defines the volume of the fuel tank which helps obviate the usual skeletal look of Technic. I guess a dirt bike is already skeletal! The educational value of the set is high with the authentic engine construction and clever details such as a working kickstand and all the other details mentioned above.

5I Am One Cool Aunt!  Jul 30, 2008
By Mary A. Woelfel "estelleOICU812"
My nephew loves dirt bikes, so how cool is the fact that I found his favorite thing in an educational toy!
He is sure to love it for his birthday.
Amazon has it all and so convenient!

5Excellent for 11 year old  Sep 21, 2009
By Skyland Ranch
Our 11 year old had so much fun putting this together. It was a good teaching tool to help him with organization and mechanical skills. Also, a great family bonding experience. The product is well made and all the parts fit together perfectly.

5Great Toy  Jan 09, 2009
By Beatrice Sarver
My son loved this. He loves Lego and dirt bikes. The best thing about this toy was the fact that after he put this together it stayed together. It did not fall apart when he played with it. He really liked this since Lego can sometimes be easy to break apart. This is not the case with this toy. He had hours of fun with this one.

4why pay more?  Nov 24, 2010
By Jodi L. Vankirk "jodi"
I'll be purchasing some Lego Technic sets for my son this Christmas. What I don't understand - and am writing a review about - is that on the Lego website you can buy this exact same set for $39.99 vs. the $99 that Amazon / Lego4u seems to be requiring. I'll buy elsewhere and check out prices on every other set I intend to purchase.
