My daughter loves lego friends! Jan 06, 2012
By Michelle Moore My 5 year old daughter enjoys playing with the pool set. She was able to assemble the set with help from the instruction book, which includes easy to understand pictures, and occasional help from me. I purchased this set at another store for 5.99. The pool and the lounge have stayed together after lots of play this week. The lego girl loses her hair occasionally, but my daughter can put it back on by herself. Only wish that the lego girls would also be sold separate from the sets, since my daughter wants all of the friends.

Very cute set Jan 13, 2012
By Wm19 This is a very cute set. It includes a little pool, a lounger with an umbrella, a potted plant, an Emma figurine and a little ice cream or fruity drink. For this price, you get more Lego pieces than a comparable City lego set.
I have the Olivia House, and the splash pool set fits nicely on the rooftop patio, where I can pretend that it's an outdoor hot tub!

Dream come true. Jan 17, 2012

When I walked down the toy aile and saw Lego Friends the first time, I said with delight, "wow, girly legos!" This line is just the kind of thing I'd always wanted!
And even better, the Friend sets are made of almost nothing but classic Lego pieces that have been around for decades. Just this time we have new pretty colors (the original primary colors always bothered me as a kid) and more accessories. Over the last decade I've seen more and more sets built with unusual "special pieces" that can't be used the built anything but one thing. I mean things like lots of large curved pieces on say, Boba Fett's spaceship. But Friends sets allow for tons of imagination.
I liked this pool set a lot, and for being a tiny set it really does have a creative use of standard bricks. It's just so relaxed and leisurely; its not hard to play pretend with this setup.
Also, if you don't like Friends minifigures, they can easily be replaced by the Lego standard minifigure. I haven't seen a problem in scale in any set so far. I can't wait to get the huge house and the laboratory- really, a science lab?! How cool is that?

YES!!!!!!! Jan 13, 2012
By Anonymous Lego REALLY hit it out of the ballpark with the new Friends sets! We have some other Lego sets, including the only "girl" set that was available, and my 6 year old almost never played with them. She had no interest. When I brought home 2 of these small scenes, her face lit up and she couldn't wait to get started building and playing! These smaller sets can be found for $6 at local stores. We started with this set and the outdoor bakery. So for $12 we were able to set up a pool with a snack bar and 2 "friends" to play with each other (oh, and for us, the "drinks" are smoothies that get made at the snack bar and brought over to the pool). My daughter can't wait to get more friends and sets! Way to go Lego!
