This one fits the K4SSWH from Wal-Mart Dec 12, 2008
By Pete FINALLY! If you bought the K4SSWH Kitchen Aid with the bowl lift from Wal-Mart's black Friday sale, this is the wire whip you want. Strangely, the K4SSWH advertises as a 4.5 Qt bowl yet needs a 5 Qt attachment. Go figure. Don't make the same mistake I did and get the 4.5 Qt Wire whip, because it won't fit. This one, however, fits like a glove.

2009 Black Friday Wal-Mart Kitchenaid deal - THIS IS IT! Jul 08, 2010
By K. Brooks If you purchased the K45SSWH KitchenAid mixer that was the 2009 Black Friday deal at Wal-Mart this is the whip for that mixer. Even though this whip states it is for a 5 quart mixer it is the one that operates in this 4.5Q gem that was such a steal last year. Learn from my mistake and get mixing right away! It works perfectly. Enjoy.

Fits the K4SSWH!!! Dec 03, 2010
By WifeyType I recently purchased the K4SSWH at a Black Friday Sale. I was having a hard time finding the appropriate attachments. I searched through the reviews, and found that this would be the right one. However, one reviewer said hers did not fit, and also, by the picture, it doesn't look like it would fit. So I went ahead and took my chances and ordered it. I got it in yesterday, and it fits perfectly. The top part where it attaches to the machine does not look like the picture at all, it looks like it should. Trust me, if you bought the K4SSWH this is the whip for you!!!!

This wire whip is NOT a worthwhile replacement! Dec 29, 2011
By Dondar The wire whip that we purchased for our KitchenAid (K5SS) mixer is deficient in that the original accessory was made from stainless steel and its dimensions were somewhat larger. This replacement was the only one that we could find available a few months ago. (However, there now ARE other units being promoted as stainless steel but we are still trying to determine whether these are compatible for our mixer model.) The wire whip we originally ordered is promoted as a direct replacement for our specific model mixer, but this is blatantly UNTRUE in that it is not stainless steel and is not quite the right size.
The ordered product KitchenAid Wire Whip is too small so that it does not quite reach the mixing bowl bottom. Also, because these units are now subtantially aluminum it is no longer possible to wash them in any automatic dishwasher. The size problem is clearly a design defect, and the material is inferior to the original. We therefore recommend that NO ONE BUY ANY OF THESE until and unless better replacement accessories of proper materials (e.g., stainless steel) and size (accurate) are once again made available. However, if you are not concerned over fit and you do not need stainless steel then you probably would enjoy the relatively low price of this aluminum wire whip.

Kitchen Aid means confidence Jan 19, 2009
By Maurice S. Lau I have been using Kitchen Aid products since 1993. I had learned about Kitchen Aid stand mixer when I was in cooking school. When I had my internship in French restaurants in New York City, I saw pastry chefs in four star French restaurants using them to make their pastries. I found it very handy, reliable and efficient. The wire whip attachment whips egg white and heavy cream very easily and evenly. Of course, you have to know the basic of whipping, otherwise over whipping is common with a powerful machine like it. You may use a hand held mixer to do the same task. However, you will find that a hand held mixer is slow and you will feel tired very soon if you have to make a big order of egg white or whipped cream.
I bought this product not because I need a replacement for my old one which is still strong and like new. It is because my friend bought a Kitchen Aid stand mixer model K4SS which doesn't come with the wire whip and the dough hook. I strongly recommanded to him to get both and he did. That is why I ordered it for him. I still strongly recommand it to any pastry maker if he/she is serious in pastry making.
