These things rock! Feb 26, 2010
By William Carson These balls are weighty enough for me to throw them 75 yards but soft enough so that if they come down on my 5 y/o son's face, he doesn't cry. They're an excellent way to train a child who's afraid of a ball how to catch it.

Almost perfect. Apr 09, 2010

It's probably a perfect product for a pitching machine. It might be a perfect product for other parents. For me, it is a high quality product, but I stopped short of giving it 5 stars because it didn't fit my needs.
I bought it to play catch with my six year old, who is just learning to catch with a baseball glove. The ball is lighter and bouncier than a regular baseball, so it tends to pop out of his glove. He'd rather play with the easier-to-catch hardball (and say "ouch!" whenever it hits him), than play with this one.
As for batting practice, it travels way too far. We use a wiffle ball instead. Again, this might be the perfect product for someone else hitting in a batting cage.

Good practice ball indoor or out Aug 03, 2009
By TheCommish16 These Lite Flite balls are great for practice whether it's inside a gym or outside on the field. The great thing is while they are generally softer and have less weight than a real baseball, they still do have SOME weight to them. I would say the weight feels somewhere between a wiffleball and an "incrediball" as they are called. They really travel when hit and are generally easy to throw. I would suggest taking a look at them in a sporting good store first to make sure they are what you're looking for in a practice ball but I doubt you would be disappointed. Enjoy!

Great for Practice Feb 16, 2007
By K. McGibney These balls are great for batting practice as well teaching kids how to catch. They are the same size as a real baseball but will not bruise a kid if they miss a catch. Once the kids see how soft they are compared to a real ball they are a little more confident about staying behind the glove to make a catch.

Pleased with the purchase Sep 14, 2011
By Paul Countess We received the jugs lite-flite baseballs in a timely manner, and the product itself is fantastic. You can throw them pretty hard, without compromising safety.
