Terrific backstop May 02, 2005
By Raskolnikov This hitting screen works very well for such a portable screen, and the SportsRUs price is a good value. The construction is high quality. The refolding process takes some getting used to, but works fine once you've done it a few times. The best part of this screen is that there is nothing to set up once it's opened! You just pull on 2 straps quickly and it's ready to use! It comes with some stakes, but I've never used them. I suppose they might be helpful in strong winds. The case and handles work well for over the shoulder carrying. Overall, a very good value.

Great Item for Backyard Practice May 01, 2006

My 6 and 10 year old boys use this backstop regularly. They put the batting-T in front and hit hard balls into the net, then use it behind them as a ball-catch for hitting pitches(sponge balls.) It has a red square strike zone that helps the pitcher find the strike zone, and when facing the net, provides a target for the hitter. It pops open with great force so be carefull when you set it up the first time. My 10 yr. old folds it and puts it away for us. This is a quality product and an essential piece of training equipment for any age. We like the Jugs machine balls for use in the backyard. They are dense yellow sponge with the correct size, weight and seam. Unlike regular training balls, we have not broken a window with them yet.

Excellent screen Mar 08, 2007
By Chuck Very nice piece of equipment without being bulky. It feels like a solid piece of equipment that will last.
Quick to setup and take down. Base is held down by metal pegs. Setup is a snap. Take down needs to be practiced. Watching the video on the JUGS website clears everything up.

This is the one... Jan 18, 2007
By Waitin' on the Cubs... This is the same net coaches use for temporary practice sites....away games, travelling, etc. Set up couldn't be easier - toss it in the air, and its spring-metal hoops do the rest. It is a little tougher to fold, but by the second or third time we had it figured out. My kid loves it (Little League, AAU, age-12) because he can set it up anywhere in our yard to hit a bucket of balls; no more wrecked fences; no more chasing balls at the field! If this net meets your price range, it's the one.

Excellent Product Feb 21, 2007
By J. Paddack This is the second one of these nets that I have purchased. It is a great tool for my son to use. I am not always at home when he is, and this allows him to pitch, throw, and hit all by himself. It is easy to use, lightweight enough for anyone to carry, and very durable. Jugs makes some really great products.
