By Bryce M. Mitchell this's the most amazing shaving cream I've ever used and believe me, I've used a few!!! my neck's really sensitive to the razor, and until now, it'd get irritated EVERYtime I shaved - not so much with Jack Black!!! it's like the hair just wipes right off!!! it also smells REALLY good!!! how many shaving creams smell good??

The next best thing to shaving soap and a brush. Sep 06, 2008
By W. Allen I haven't looked at a shaving cream since I saw the light and switched to shaving soap and a brush but I received a sample of this product in an order from Details for Men (Highly Recommended Dealer). I have to admit this worked really well. It was by far the best shave I've ever gotten from a cream. I wouldn't replace my soap/brush with it but I might get some to take when I travel to save some room. It has eucalyptus in it so it does "tingle" a little. If your a cream user, give it a try. I think you will be very pleased.

By SJSFITZ This product gives a very smooth and close shave - even with old blades. I have very sensitive skin and this cream does not irritate or dry my skin. Been using product for a while and like it so much am writing first product review...EVER.

Great product Jan 19, 2009
By Tushaar Great product. Very little amount needed and it lives up to it's promises of high moisture and not clogging the razor(Gillette Fusion) like shaving creams.
Best of the no-lather shave creams, and one of the best bar none. May 22, 2012
By Michael LeBlanc In summary this is the best all-around cream I've used, and it's unquestionably better than its no-lather competitors Creamo, Billy Jealousy, etc. Obviously it can't be all things to all people, but this cream paired with a Schick Hydro 3 gives me the best, most consistent shaves I've ever had, and I'm also a head shaver so that's a consideration for some of you.
More in depth thoughts:
I am an experienced shaver, and have operated on both ends of the continuum. On one end I've explored the full DE wet shaving experience with a wide assortment of razors, blades, creams, and brushes. On the other end I've gone barebones BIC Metal disposable and a can of Barbasol.
Shaving is not a ritualistic behavior for me like it is for some men; it's something that simple needs to be done, and I'd like it to be done as well as possible, but it's not a process I want to turn into a 20-minute meditation. Unfortunately, this is essentially the path you end up going down when you enter the DE world. More time, more prep, more exacting technique almost always translate into better shaves, and conversely, any attempts at hastening the process usually result in a sub-par (and sometimes painful) shaving experience. If you are one of those men who truly revels in the shaving process, you probably can achieve better results with a great DE razor, Feather Blades, a badger tipped brush, and some Truefitt & Hill shave cream, along with a good half hour. If you're like me, however, and you desire a more concise shaving experience, Beard Lube may be for you.
Part of the problem with evaluating a shave cream is that it's only one of the variables in the equation, the others being your razor, your technique, your skin, etc. After a lot of juggling, I've found that this cream pairs exceptionally well with the Schick Hydro 3; it doesn't clock the blades, and it makes the razor glide completely effortlessly while providing an exceptionally close shave.
I find Beard Lube's performance to be superior to other no lather creams like Creamo, which I find frankly to be a poor cream, and Billy Jealousy's Hydroplane, which is pretty good in its own right but Beard Lube outdoes it. As a head shaver this cream has proven excellent, which is important since creams that are often excellent on the face can prove trying on the head, or vice versa.
The smell is very pleasant, the price is right, and you can buy a 3oz version if you're a frequent flyer like me.
