great for dry skin Apr 21, 2008
By Coffeelover I keep buying this product for my dad who suffer from dry skin problem for a long time. I recommended several products from famous skin product companies including Cetaphil, Aveeno and Vaseline. Among them my dad chose this Eucerin lotion! This is the most effective for him so far.

Very good lotion, long lasting, oil based May 13, 2010

I really like Eucerin and have been using it for years. It was recommended to me by a dermatologist as a high quality lotion to replace the cheap (irritating) stuff I was using before. It is almost odorless (no @#*$&! perfume) and very soothing.
Eucerin is oil-based, which means: * It takes a bit of getting used to. Felt oily at first, especially since I initially used too much; now it feels soothing. * Seems pretty much all active ingredients, kind of a lotion concentrate. * Start with just a tiny dab. Goes a long way and lasts, unlike water-based lotions from which the water evaporates and leaves mostly solids. * It replaces the skin oils pulled out by soap. I don't think water-based lotions do this. * Rub it in well, then allow a few minutes for it to soak in before touching papers or your clothing. Use just a little at first.
Highly recommended.

The Preservatives used in Eucerin are Irritants and Allergens! Nov 13, 2007
By D. Bupp Methylchloroisothiazolinone and methylisothiazolinone are potent sensitizers and bacterial mutagens that have links to neurological damage. Not only that, they are known allergens for 2 to 4 percent of the population. Through patch testing, I have found out I am allergic to MCI/MI and my eczema has improved dramatically since avoiding Eucerin products. Eucerin is one of the few companies that insist on using these ingredients in leave-on products. I have asked Eucerin directly for an explanation and received the following answer: "We are unable to disclose ingredient information, other than as required by law, regarding our product formulations. We adhere to this policy to ensure that trade secrets and other proprietary business information remain confidential."
There are alternative safe ingredients. Please do some research before putting "Dermatologist Recommended" products on your body.

My long-time favorite Dec 01, 2010
By Karen L. Goldstein I have been using the Original Eucerin Moisturing Lotion for years and years, and I love it. It is just wonderful for my dry, sensitive skin. However, recently, I have not been able to find he Original in any of the stores. That is why I was so happy to see that it was available on line at Amazon.
