5Love my Dolphin...  Aug 11, 2009
This will be my fourth Summer with the Dolphin.
It's AMAZING. Never had a problem with it. My pool is surrounded by trees. Couldn't imagine cleaning the pool without it now. It picks up everything; sticks, leaves, berries, algae, etc... Yes, it's a hassle to clean out the filter bags but what I did was by a second bag so that when I remove a bag I let it dry out in the sun before cleaning it and when it's dry I just turn it inside out and all the debris spills out easily then I throw it in my washing machine. Here's a little hint; When there are many leaves in the pool I first secure a ladies pantie hose on the base of the dolphin bag holder so that the bag is pretty much lined with the pantie hose, catching the heavy debris! I just tried this for the first time this summer...

I would recommend to anyone!

5Dolphin Pool Cleaner  Jul 09, 2009
I bought a Dolphin pool cleaner 4.5 years ago when I had leakage in my pool plumbing that required I stop using the pump powered outlet for cleaning the pool. I have a never had a single issue with this product and it works better than I ever though it would.

I can choose to clean my pool with the pump off if I choose, saving energy. But is usually have the pump on because the Dolphin does a great job of churning the water for filtering as it vacuums. The design and quality on this product is outstanding. I have actually left it in the pool during the entire winter and its starts working with no issues in the spring. It cleans the pool completely and even picks up fine and coarse sand.

Due leaking plumbing, I have re-routed my pump return over the pool deck to save money in repairs. The Dolphin helps this to work by constantly churning the water and stirring up debris for filtering. I consider this product a great investment and indispensable to keeping our pool clean and sparkling. FYI - I have a 26,000 gallon in ground pool with fiberglass finish.

3Great while it lasts  Jun 23, 2009
I have had my Dolphine Pool Cleaner for about 3 years. My mom and my sister both have one as well.
PROS:
*It is great WHEN it is working.
*Nothing cleans better and I have tried several other brands and thus far the Dolphine works best.
*It easy to use.
*The bags are easy to clean - just rinse then I pop them in my washer.
CONS:
*Price - very expensive
*Parts are not that easy to find and they are expensive
*Service - there isn't any. Unlike a Polaris or other pool products that you can take down to your local pool supply shop for repair, it is a major ordeal to get the Dolphine repaired. You can send it back to the company but only after a major ordeal and it cost more to repair than its worth.

My motor recently went out - after only 3 years and of course once it is out of warranty. The cleaner itself is still in decent shape, but I cannot even find where to buy a new motor, but from what I hear it will cost me over $500.

2Works Great, but DON"T Let It Get Wet!!  Jun 22, 2009
The power supply that is. Even though it's rated as weather tight, IT'S NOT!! I've owned this unit for 4 years and I've have been through 3 Power supplies, and 5 returns for repair. If it happens to get caught in the rain, it's all over! They paid for the first repair, but each one after that cost $300-500. Once it was even returned dead. So now I have a new power supply and I keep it up on a pedestal, and covered with a rubbermaid tub. When not in use, I bring it in the house.

You HAVE to keep that bag clean, to get it to walk up the walls properly. If it's not making it to the top, your bag is dirty.

I will say that, when it works, it works GREAT!

1NO SUPPORT! DON'T BUY  Jun 20, 2009
The computer part of ours stop working after 4 years. Would have been a simple replacement part but dolphin would only replace the entire motor section which cost $500!!! As much as new one!

I would NOT buy this again.
