4This detector is easy to use and works well.  May 26, 2010
By Scottro "SG"
This metal detector is easy to use and I really like it's digital display that ACCURATELY identifies the type of metal found. I got it as a gift for my dad, but couldn't help trying it out before giving it to him. As a test, it easily found coins and keys tossed randomly thru the yard. I've also found coins and nails that were lost years before. I also successfully used it to find an odd-shaped aluminum spacer that dropped from my motorcycle somewhere in the gravel driveway. I'm giving this one to my dad, but will buy another for myself. The motorcycle parts incident convinced me this detector is well worth the $90. I would suggest buying a 4x4 plastic tarp, small shovel, and some gardening hand troughs and rakes for use while detecting. We developed a good technique for yard-metal detecting. After getting a signal, cut up a cube of earth. Place the cube of earth on the tarp. Scan the cube to see if the metal is in it. Use the hand tools to break up the dirt cube and find the metal. Once we have the metal we re-fill the hole from the dirt on the tarp. If you keep the sod intact, you can re-cover the hole very nicely.

5Bounty Hunter metal detector worked great  Apr 19, 2007
By W. Graham
I had lost my wedding band while spreading mulch around the house and I decided to try a metal detector to find it before replacing the ring. After doing some research on metal detectors, I decided the Bounty Hunter model was a reasonably priced investment for the search. It was easy to assemble and use and I was able to locate the lost ring after about 15 minutes of searching (I did have a general idea of the location of where the ring had gotten lost and it was only an inch or so under the surface).

5Very nice beginners detector  Mar 24, 2010
By B. Eastwood
This detector is very easy to assemble, adjustable length, comfortable grips, very sensitive and precise. Fun to explore with!

The sound notifications beeps are loud so you will need headphones with it.
I bought a Stereo plug for less than $4.00 which converts 1/8th to 1/4th inch
and allows me to use any regular headphones or earbuds with this

4So far, so good!  Apr 10, 2010
By Deb and Paul
This is our first metal detector, so we have nothing to compare it against. But just for the experience, it seems to work well. Good at detecting the advertised "up to 6 inches" depth claim, but hard to pinpoint the exact spot - tones cover a pretty good area. Also, the "junk rejection" feature works well. Overall, we're happy - just waiting for that first BIG find!

5You Need No Other Metal Detector  Aug 13, 2010
By Truthpeeler "Truthpeeler.com"
Unless you're a professional sleuth requiring a $1,000+ metal detector for a tax deduction, the Quick Silver is a bargain you can't pass up. The first day, we found an 1888 dime in fairly good condition. That was enough to sell me on the hobby and the tool. This one is very light and not at all complex like the one we bought about 10 years ago for more than 5 times the price.
