Wooden toys- long lasting and versatile! Aug 29, 2001
By Alison Murphy My son got this for his first birthday, and at first it was challenging for him to fit the pieces over the central peg. The holes are a good bit smaller than a standard toddler stacking toy and require better control. After a few days and with a little help he soon caught on. The clown's hat which crowns the piece was fascinating to him as it keeps the pieces from coming off or being put on. He loved putting the pieces on, putting the hat on and then *shaking* the pieces off. As he's gotten older, he's become much more adept at putting the pieces together in the "correct" order, although he still thinks its a lot of fun to put together in different configurations. After three plus years we've lost the little collar, but all the pieces are still in great shape in spite of drool and lots of imaginative play. (Stringing the pieces on shoelaces as beads for instance.)

Lots of Fun Nov 21, 2002
My daughter was given this as a secondhand toy and it looks like it is brand new. She enjoyed looking at it and knocking it over as an infant and now at 2 she has mastered stacking the rings and knowing the hat has to go on last. The only problem is the smaller rings and hat can fit very easily in a child's mouth we have had to put the hat and the smaller rings away until she stopped putting them in her mouth.

Old Time European Quality Jun 27, 2002
By Katerina Kuehler My son, who is now 4, wasn't into this kind of toys and I thought it was just a waste of money, but his 18 months old brother was absolutly delighted when he found it in the closet. It's one of his favorite toys now. This wooden stacker is made in Sweden in the same way it used to be made a hundred years ago and if nothing else it will teach your child to appreciate real, quality things in life.

Simple is Often the Best Nov 06, 2002
My 10 month old son loves this toy. At first, I figured he was too young for it, but he enjoys trying to get the pieces on and taking them off. He also likes to hold on to the circles by the center holes and clap them together. The pieces even hold up to his teething --the paint stays on, he cannot bite through the wood, etc.
Great Toy! Jul 21, 2009
By K. Callanan My son received this as a gift when he was around 17 months old. He quickly became interested and would stack the clown one piece at a time. The great thing is that it doesn't matter how you put it together, all of the pieces fit! So he is able to create some interesting shapes! As he gets older, the toy continues to grab his attention and is understanding more of the shape of the clown. I noticed one little chip of paint, but otherwise I highly recommend this fun, colorful, and educational toy!
