4Excellent look and feel, but could be a little studier  Jan 03, 2007
By Salman Khan
The goal and pole material is excellent. I find that the backboard however needs a little more support in the back because hitting the ball against certain places causes the entire backboard to reverberate and the ball to not react properly. Other than that it's an excellent backyard goal. UPDATE - 7/3 - THE Adjustable goal keeps slamming down whenever you hit the rim hard, pretty dangerouse if you ask me!

3Lower Expectations  Jun 25, 2008
By Jake Buckman
I recently purchased this Basketball System and in the process of putting it together (which isn't too difficult) I had left the backboard laying on the grass for 2 hours in 90 degree heat. When it was time to attach the backboard on the pole I realized that it was warped! After examining the thickness of the polycarbonate I was very disappointed to see that it was extremely thin. I haven't taken any shots on the backboard yet but I don't anticipate that it will be very solid. The good news is Spalding Cust. Service was extremely accomodating and is sending a new backboard at no expense to me (which is why I am giving it 3 stars vs. 1). This system will be fine for children (ages 4-12) but I do not expect that it will perform well under higher level play. If I were to do it over again I would spend significantly less or significantly more depending on the anticipated use.

5Very Pleased With This Excellent Product!  Apr 28, 2011
By OddGoose
Alright. Long story short, I absolutely love this basketball hoop. The quality and craftsmanship is exactly what I was both looking for and expected when it comes to durability and appearance. I was hesitant at first upon reading the other reviews on this, however pretty much every hoop I looked through all had the same complaint: assembly. True, this would be quite the project for a single person to put up alone, but as long as you have at least two individuals who are somewhat handy, setup isn't that complicated (and can even be fun). I myself had two friends of mine (granted they are both majoring in engineering in college) come by to help me assemble it and within an hour and a half we had it up. I don't know about the individual who wrote that parts weren't there, because what came in the box was everything that was needed (we even ended up with a small quantity of spare parts)! I think what that reviewer meant is that you WILL need some tools for setup (not parts), like ladders, wrenches, extensions, and things of that nature, but like I said, aside from that, everything is all there. In case you're wondering, the manual tells you exactly what tools you will need. Anyway, don't be scared away by other reviews, this product is a TRULY excellent value for the money, and I am glad I purchased it. :)

5Almost perfect  Jan 28, 2007
By Dominic "Dnic"
I recived on of these courts for Christmas. and the system is not complicated

Their are Two problems I see 1 when you brick the ball or hit the backboard There is a lound thunder like noise and the cour will rock back and fourth. Also if the rim spring isn't tight enough the rim will shoot up in the oppisite direction and you will have to bring the court down and reset the rim properly But this is a Excellent system

5Spalding 72307 Basketaball Hoop worth EVERY penny!!  Apr 21, 2008
By Larry P. Gumber "bargain hunter7106"
Hello, I purchased this Basketball hoop from Amazon when it was on sale, and just finished assemblying. It took some time( 4 hours-I work slow), did it all myself with some help from my 12 year old son.

The directions are perfect, not a problem, and I am not handy at all!

My advice is to ensure all 6" bolts go thru hole openings as directions state. That rubber mallet sure came in handy!

When assembling 3 pc poles, make sure you dont do on cement because you will ruin the bottom of pole when joing them.

This system is not flimsy, VERY STURDY, and the height adjustment is great. Quality parts too!

I wish I would of bought this a long time ago before wasting $75 every time on a disposable BB hoop system I bought at Target. This is a great investment. If you can get this for under $275.00, it would be an EXTREME buy.
