After much research, I decided to purchase this lovely watch for several reasons: The sapphire crystal, the two-tone (gold and silver) decoration, the luminescent watch hands, and the date window. I plan on using this watch at work (medical field) where function and durability are key. I didn't want something that was overly decorated, like with leather bands or rows of diamonds, where dirt and bacteria can hide. The metal band, sleek design, and water resistance were also big factors.
I was very pleased with the look and function of this watch. I was surprised when this watch arrived because there are several details that made this watch look even better in person than in the picture. There is a circular area of contrasting shading on the watch face (not visible in the pic) and subtle finish differences on the band that really make this watch look fantastic and expensive without being excessive. I'm a minimalist in this regard, so having extra decorations, large screws, or something that draws tons of attention is not my style. This watch really fits my style in being simple, elegant, classy, yet still has a personality.
I previously owned a dainty Bulova bracelet watch and often found it a bit hard to see the watch face in low light conditions. This watch has a face that is a bit bigger and is a little heavier, but not too heavy, and the contrast is infinitely better, so I have had no problems seeing in any light. If you're thinking of buying this watch, I suggest you actually take a ruler and put it over the top of your wrist to see how big the face will actually appear on your wrist so that you're not surprised when you open the box. Measurements of the face are in the description. It IS just a smidgen bigger than I thought it was going to be, but I was glad for that once I starting wearing it. The two-tone works to give it some contrast, class and style without being over the top. I have a small wrist, and I had to have several links removed, however that's an easy fix for a jeweler. I had some reservations about this type of clasp since I've never owned watch with this type of closure before, but it's working very well and is very comfortable - no inadvertent clasp deployment or failures. The best thing about this watch is that it works well and looks good in all situations, at work, dressed down in jeans, formal gatherings, or anything else I could imagine. I've had it for a month, and it's been performing as expected - no time lost/gained- so far and no scratches or signs of wear with normal daily use.
