5Tough to find!  Jul 08, 2010
By a1asaintwatch
To start, It was hard to find this watch ( as you can see , SOLD OUT on Amazon). I stumbled upon it in im my search for a square style watch for formal occasions. As a quasi-watch snob, I hadn't really looked deeply into Accutron as it was always associated with Bulova. In my humble opinion, Bulova is a middle of the road brand and you can find Bulova's in the $100-200 range just about anywhere. I was originally looking for something SWISS MADE and had been thinking Frederique Constant, Raymond Weil, or even a D.Freemont (to support usa watchmakers). After a few weeks of looking at $600+ watches I stumbled upon this watch in a store that was closing and dumping all of it's inventory. I bought it with no great expectations. Then I did some research on Accutron's history with NASA and the current line offerings. Not bad! The watch is SWISS MADE, so that's a plus. The watch's black face visually is very nice, and it is a functional chrono. It has saphire crystal covering, so you can expect a long life with minimal scratches.
The strap on this watch is good and fairly comfortable, so far. The watch is not overly thick, but it still feels like it has a bit of heft and quality to it. I feel bad posting a reveiw as I got the watch for a steal, but I had to pass along my surprise of the Accutron quality. This reveiw may never be read, as this watch looks to be discontinued. But, if it ever comes up on Ebay or Amazon, jump on it for your collection.
