ultimate kitsch Aug 31, 2009
By M. Cantrell If you're going to have pink flamingos, you should get the originals! Much nicer than the imitations--more detailed and better paint job. Our first pair is finally starting to look faded after about 6 years in the sun so we ordered some new ones. They were unavailable for a while after the plant closed but apparently someone finally bought it and started making them again. Hurray!

Return of the Classic Original Don Featherstone Plastic Pink Flamingo Lawn Ornament Dec 20, 2009
By Jeffrey Sward
"aandjsward"
A bolt of pink inspiration struck Don Featherstone one bleak day in 1957 in Leominster Massachusetts. The result was the creation of the world's first plastic pink flamingo lawn ornaments. Don Featherstone in one stroke of genius accomplished more than any other single person for both the plastics industry and popular culture. Imagine the drabness of a world without plastic pink flamingo lawn ornaments.
The original Don Featherstone pink flamingo lawn ornaments were manufactured continuously from 1957 through 2005 by Union Products in Leominster, Massachusetts. In 2005, Union Products went out of business. However, the copyright and molds for the original Don Featherstone pink flamingo were purchased by HMC International LLC in Westmoreland, New York, a division of Faster-Form Corporation. As of mid-2009, Faster Form has finally begun to remanufacture the original Don Featherstone plastic pink flamingo lawn ornament under the Faster Form label. The reissued items still bear the signature of Don Featherstone as well as the Union Products Leominster imprint, even though they are now being manufactured in New York.
Accept no substitutes. Go for the gusto. Purchase only the original Don Featherstone plastic pink flamingo lawn ornament.
All plastic lawn ornaments deteriorate with sunlight, resulting in faded color and brittle plastic after five to ten years outdoors. As with the original, the connection to the legs is delicate.
For the creation of the plastic pink flamingo, Don Featherstone has won the coveted Ig Nobel Prize.
Check Don Featherstone's book The Original Pink Flamingos: Splendor on the Grass.

a classic is back Mar 27, 2009
By Kurt Peterson Pink Flamingos, a true classic. These are the latest rendition of the original Union Products Flamingos designed by Don Featherstone. Faster Form has brought them out of extinction and I'm glad they did. They are great, from the separate applied eyes to Don's signature cast on the birds butt. If you like yard flamingos....and I do, these are a must have!

Not Pink May 27, 2011
By penelope These flamingos are a HUGE disappointment. The pictures on Amazon show pink flamingos, the box they came in shows pink flamingos .. however, the product, the flamingos are ... definitely Not pink. I don't know what to call them perhaps deep salmon ? tomato soup ?
BUT - Not, Not pink. I quickly went to the hardware store and bought a spray can of pink paint and I will try to fix them, but I am extremely irritated that I have to make pink flamingos pink. And, I believed the pictures and description and bought 5 pairs of these Not Pink things.
Before someone says that flamingos have natural variation in color, yes i know that. But these are not natural flamingos .. and they are advertised as Pink.

Flamingos can't stand.... Mar 18, 2010
By P. B. Neal
"PAMMIE"
I'll start out positive. I love the flamingos. I bought the originals......
However, the legs are so cheap....as of yet I can't even get them to go into the holes on the underside of birds. My birds are still boxed and waiting to walk.
Recap: LEGS ARE SUPER CHEAPLY MADE......EITHER THEY WON'T GO INTO THE HOLES OR THEY FALL OUT.
SHOULD I SUPER GLUE MY BIRDS??
